St. Anthony's Danny McDonald captained the Ireland A team to victory in the recent International "A" series in Shrewsbury. Danny was skipping a rink and won each of his 3 games.
Ireland brushed aside Wales and Scotland in their first 2 games with Danny winning 16-3 and 20-3. This set up a winner takes all clash against the English, but this ended up a draw with Danny being the only victorious Irish skip. However Ireland's vastly superior shot difference saw them claim the title.
St. Mark's Andrew Leckey was leading in the individual rinks competition. Again Ireland swept aside Wales and Scotland in the first 2 games, but succumbed to England in a tense final game.
