Ladies ease into Interzone quarter finals

Armagh ladies remain on course to retain their Interzone title after a 21 shot victory over Lisburn today at Richhill. The result sees them move into the quarter finals but it was only in the latter stages of the game that the home side managed to pull away to record a comfortable victory.

Armagh were 4 up at the break. Pauline Beattie (who flew home from a holiday in London especially for the match) was up by 3 shots. May Cassells won by 5 while Daphne Marshall was beaten by 4.

At one stage in the second half, Lisburn had cut the deficit to 1 shot, but that was as close as they got. In the end. Rachel Cassells stormed to a 13 shot win. Flo McNally also finished 4 up and Catherine McMillan drew.

The ladies will be at home again in the quarter finals to Western.
