Ireland win British Isles Championship... but only just!

Ireland, with the help of Pauline Cassells and Marty Trainor, have retained the British Isles Championship, but it took a last bowl victory over Wales in the final match to secure the overall win. It's obvious that the other home nations, Wales in particular, are starting to bridge the gap between themselves and Ireland. Indeed Ireland only won 2 of the 4 individual competitions (pairs and singles), with Wales winning the triples and fours.

Saturday's team game scores will follow in due course.
